This aerial photograph of Stockholm in the 1920s gives a good sense of the town's size and of the (literal) centralitiy of the lumber industry.

This c. 1940 photo of Axel Tall's farm was probably taken from an airplane  piloted by Fredrick Anderson of Stockholm.  Anderson is credited with flying the first (and only) airmail run out of the town.
